In 2013 aHead Hair opened its doors, and our hearts, to the incredible local community of Bentleigh East.
We started out as two sisters with a shared dream to work together every day, in a sacred space, where we could make people feel pretty damn special.
Ten years later, we are in awe of the community who walk through our doors every day and trust us to help them look and feel their best!
What first started out as a sisterly dream team has evolved into The A Team, a crew of incredible humans who give everything to being the best versions of themselves, both personally and professionally.
At aHead, we’re always ready to welcome you with open arms and a cold glass of bubbly to lift your spirits, or a cup of herbal tea to warm your soul.
Tessa’s love for hairdressing started when she was 5 years old and gave her reluctant sister a haircut. She spent the majority of her adolescence experimenting with crazy hairstyles and colours (much to her mother’s dismay). Her dream became a reality over 16 years ago, and her passion for great hair has grown stronger every year since.
Tess is not only a decorated and award winning hairdresser, but she has also competed in renowned hair competitions and had the well deserved honour of working at Melbourne Fashion Week.
Tessa has the gift of joy, making anyone and everyone around her laugh. She sees the best in every situation and her positivity is contagious, bringing a vibrant and peaceful energy to our sacred salon.
Her extensive knowledge of colour makes her an industry leader, and her highest priority is the condition and quality of the hair in the chair she stands behind.
Tessa is not currently taking on new clients.
Nicola began her career in the hair and beauty industry at age 15, working in a hair salon as an assistant.
After completing an Advanced Diploma in Beauty Therapy, she spent 11 years perfecting her craft on the floor with clients.
After becoming a Mum to her son Soli in 2020, Nic hung up the tools and immersed herself in running all of the behind the scenes aspects of aHead Hair & Beauty, including marketing and social media. Her fresh ideas are always inspiring and her drive to bring an exceptional environment to clients and the team is evident.
Nicola is extremely passionate about team culture, and creating the best possible experience for our aHead community.
Jas joined The A Team in 2021 as a blonde and balayage specialist, and life at aHead has never been better for all of us!
Jas might just be the happiest human in the world – she’s always smiling and laughing and bring such a light and positive vibe to our team.
Jas is constantly thirsty for growth and development, never remaining stagnant. She is always the first to try the latest techniques and trends, and has a great talent for long lasting, low maintenance balayage.
In her spare time, you can find Jassy is tending to her ever growing plant family, at a music festival or bingeing a Netflix series.

Tash joined The A Team in 2023, boasting over 20 years in the hair dressing industry.
Tash’s speciality? Colour. She is incredible at creating low maintenance, seamless balayage and blondes.
Tash is an exceptional haircutter. She prides herself on going above and beyond to really explain to guests how best to style their hair at home, as well as understanding what will best suit their face shape.
Outside aHeadQuarters, Tash is usually spending time with her beloved doggies.
Tash is a well travelled human, seeing and experiencing so much of the world.
She has a super chill energy, and is able to make anyone laugh.

Hannah joined our team late 2020, after completing a Bachelor of Design majoring in Architecture. Hannah realised her childhood dream of becoming a hairdresser had been overshadowed by the “societal expectation” of going to university and getting a degree.
So, she ditched the world of Interior Design and applied for a spot in our team to live out her dream of becoming a hair stylist. And damn, are we glad she did!
Hannah is so passionate about hair and has the highest attention to detail. Her speciality? Creating a personalised low maintenance blonde, while maintaining the health of the hair.
Han is so thorough, and makes everyone feel comfortable and cared for in her chair.

That’s why, in 2019, we transitioned and became a Sustainable Salon. Backed by the brilliant folks from Sustainable Salons, we’re able to turn all of our trash into treasure, whilst helping to feed the hungry, protect our planet and grow local communities. Together we’re on the journey to zero waste and have already accomplished some pretty incredible things!
